Adolescence can be a turbulent and trying time and most of our young girls are launched into it with little consciousness and even less preparation. How could it change the teenage years of a girl to have mentors, who have walked the path before her, guide her with love and wisdom into young womanhood? To have her family walk beside her on that journey, honoring and celebrating her step out of childhood? To have a group of peers supporting her and sharing the journey with her? To be welcomed by an older generation of women who share with her the gifts and strengths and beauty of womanhood?

Awakening the Empowered Woman Within: A Sacred Rite of Passage was created to bring these vital experiences to more adolescent girls, to help them cross the bridge between childhood and young womanhood with a deeper sense of themselves, their own inner and outer beauty and the gifts they bring to the world, so that they may walk through their teen years with strength and self-confidence. 

With heart-centered conversation, art, song, reflective activity and ritual we deepen girls' relationships to their inner selves, their families, their communities and to their own version of what is sacred. Together we create a strong and safe container to explore topics such as body image, relationships, empowerment, sexuality and personal fears. 

Through embodiment, these young women leave with more than just an idea about who they are, but a felt-sense of what it feels like to embody the person they want to share with the world. To do this we support them to get in touch with the wisdom of their bodies, the gifts of the natural world, the power of their minds and the fire in their hearts.This is an opportunity to create deep, long-lasting friendships as well as an invitation for each individual to truly look into who they are and what course their lives will take. 

By the end of the retreat these young women have bonded as a connected tribe in a deep and authentic way. Initiation culminates in a guided rite of passage that ritually connects her to her inherent and mysterious gift of womanhood. She is moved to claim the sacred feminine in her life, and with gained competence, make a life commitment to become the person she was born to be.

The mother’s participation in their daughter's rite of passage ceremony embraces their emergence into womanhood. This receiving of the young women is crucial in completing the initiation process by recognizing the profound inner changes they have gone through.

Awakening the Empowered Woman Within includes 12 months of sisterhood circles that expand and deepen your daughter's understanding of themselves followed by a 3 day overnight retreat and rite of passage ceremony in Millcreek Canyon . Additional special events allow them to be mentored by world class leaders in many different areas from arts to alternative sciences to mythology and indigenous wisdom.
