Rumi Preparation

Benefiting the most from your experience begins with intention, purpose and self-love

RUMI Meditation Preparation

Preparing for ceremony is part of the journey itself.

The days leading up to your experience create the conditions that allow the sacrament to work more deeply and gently within you. When the body is calm, the mind is clear, and the heart is open, the doorway into remembrance becomes easier to enter.

This page offers guidance to help you arrive grounded, receptive, and ready to receive whatever wisdom the experience may bring.

Simply prepare with care, trust, and presence.

Walking This Path Together

Entering this work is an intentional step.

The space we create together is designed to support presence, safety, and authentic exploration. It is a space for honesty, curiosity, and remembrance.

You do not need to have anything figured out before arriving.
Simply come with openness and a willingness to meet yourself more deeply.

You might think of me as a boatwoman, helping you cross from one shore to another… and also as a lighthouse, steady and present should you ever wish to return for guidance along the way.

The Nature of the Journey

A Rumi Ceremony is a space where deeper layers of consciousness become available.

Many people experience moments of profound clarity, expanded awareness, emotional release, or a deep sense of unity and love. Others encounter insights about their lives, relationships, or patterns that have been ready to shift.

No two journeys are the same.

The medicine carries profound intelligence. It often reveals exactly what is needed for your growth, often beyond what the mind expects.

Your role is simple:

Remain open.
Stay present.
Trust the unfolding.

Personal Responsibility

This experience is participatory.

I may offer guidance, reflection, and support, but the work of seeing, feeling, and integrating belongs to you.

This orientation moves us away from blame and toward authorship.

This journey is not something that happens to you.
It is something you participate in.

You remain the authority of your own life.

Intention

Before ceremony, take some time to reflect on your intention.

Ask yourself:

• What am I ready to see more clearly?
• What am I ready to release?
• What am I inviting into my life?

An intention is simply a way of orienting your heart toward the experience.

Once the journey begins, there's nothing to do but receive.

Preparing Your Mind

In the days leading up to ceremony, it is helpful to create a little more quiet in your inner world.

Consider limiting exposure to:

• social media
• news
• intense television or media
• emotionally charged conversations

Instead, nourish yourself with practices that support presence:

• meditation
• journaling
• time in nature
• gentle movement
• quiet reflection

These practices help soften the mind and make it easier to enter deeper states of awareness.

Preparing Your Body

When the nervous system feels safe and the body is relaxed, the experience can unfold more naturally.

Breath Practice

Your breath will be one of your greatest allies during the journey.

Practicing slow, intentional breathing in the days leading up to ceremony can help your body become familiar with relaxation and surrender.

Each evening before sleep, try the following practice:

Inhale slowly for 8 counts, allowing the chest and belly to expand.
Exhale for
8 counts, allowing the body to soften and melt into the bed.

Allow the breath to be circular, no ending, no beginning. Slow and steady.

During ceremony, this same breathing will help you move through the experience with greater ease.

Food & Substances

To support a clear and receptive system:

• Avoid alcohol, cannabis, or recreational drugs for at least 5 days prior to ceremony
• Avoid
caffeine the day before and the day of ceremony
• Pause supplements on the
day of ceremony

In the days leading up to ceremony, it is recommended to eat light, clean foods, emphasizing vegetables and whole foods while avoiding fried or heavily processed meals.

Please arrive with an empty stomach, finishing your last light meal approximately 1.5 hours before ceremony.

A clear body allows the medicine to work more smoothly.

Meditation & Ceremony Time

Your meditation portion will last approximately 1-1.5 hours, with the full ceremonial experience lasting around 3 hours.

Please allow spaciousness in your schedule before and after our time together.

This is sacred time for your nervous system and consciousness.

What to Bring

You are welcome to bring sacred objects that hold meaning for you.

Some people like to bring:

• crystals
• photographs
• small altar items

These may be placed near you or on the ceremonial altar.

Please wear comfortable, layered clothing, preferably white or light colors.

To protect the sensitivity of the ceremonial space, please avoid wearing perfume or fragrances of any kind.

And most importantly, bring a curious and open heart.

Entering Ceremony

Ceremony marks a threshold.

The ordinary pace of life slows, and attention turns inward.

Preparation is not about doing everything perfectly.
It is about creating the conditions for the experience to unfold with greater ease.

The ceremony itself is only one part of the journey.

The way you prepare, the presence you bring, and the care you give afterward all shape how the experience integrates into your life.

During the Journey

A simple mantra can support you if the experience becomes intense or unfamiliar:

Trust. Surrender. Allow.

You may also repeat softly to yourself:

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.

Let your voice be a reminder of safety and choice.

Integration

The journey continues long after the ceremony ends.

In the hours and days that follow, give yourself time and space to honor what you experienced.

Avoid loud or chaotic environments if possible.

Instead, support your integration through:

• rest
• journaling
• time in nature
• gentle music
• bathing or soaking
• quiet reflection

You can expect insights to continue unfolding for weeks.

Allow the experience to reveal itself gradually.

Please avoid making major life decisions immediately following your ceremony.

You will receive an integration guide on the day of ceremony and we will schedule an integration call to help you process and integrate what has emerged.
